Marilyn Moyer (also SM 1957) and I have been married for 44 years and have two sons and five grandchildren. Realtor Married 2
I have been married to John Mitchell (class of '57) for 44 years. We have two sons and five grandchildren. We are both semi-retired and spend our winters in Palm Desert, Calif. where we continue to prove our lack of athletic ability on the golf course. We travel quite a bit, and have seen several of our classmates all over the country. I am amazed to see how many of our class became teachers or writers of some sort. I am also curious to see if any of us can recognize anyone. I look forward to trying. Send Marilyn a MessageSend Marilyn a Message

Real Estate Sales Married 2
Sam and I met at K-State and we have been happily married for 47 years. He is a Kappa Sigma and I am a Kappa Delta. With the exception of a few early years in Denver, we have lived in the Kansas City area. Our home is in Mission Hills. We have two sons; David lives in Prairie Village and Derek in Mission. We are active supporters of K-State athletics, alumni activities, and currently we are serving on the KSU Foundation Board of Trustees. We have enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and abroad and plan to keep on going! Both of our careers have been primarily in residential real estate. Looking forward to seeing all of you at the reunion!

Mechanical Engineer Married 2

After a super education at SM, I enrolled in Mechanical Engineering (what else could I be?) at Michigan State University.  Sigrid August (57) and I were married in 1960 and she put me through my last year at MSU and three years of army experience at White Sands Missile Range, NM.  That was the start of a very “moving” life.  Back to Overland Park and design and test engineering at K-W Dart Truck Co.  Then off to St. Joseph, MO and eventually to J.I. Case Company (mobile machinery design) in Burlington IA.  Case moved us to Sao Paulo, Brazil were I managed a design engineering department.  Back to Racine WI, and Case Engine Application design.  Next off to Woodbury, MN and more design management until retirement (almost) in 2003.   We also designed two daughters and helped design three grandchildren.   Sigrid and I still use Woodbury as home base for seeing the rest of the world.

Janet Wren (Odrowski)
Married 3
We moved to Leawood about three years ago from Chicago. I have been married to Harry Wren (Shawnee Mission Class 1954) for over forty years. We have three children two boys and one girl and six grandaughters. One son lives in Houston, TX, one in Scottsdale, AZ and our daughter lives here in Overland Park with her family. We moved here to live a little closer to all of them. We lived in Houston, Dallas, and Ft. Worth for awhile, then moved to Chicago and spent 25 years there. We lived in Lake Forest about 30 miles from the city on the North Shore of Lake Michigan. We played lots of tennis while in Dallas and Chicago. I was in a singles, doubles and mixed doubles League for a long time. My favorite things to do is spending time with my family, travel and play tennis.

December 29, 1939 Writer Married
When you are 17 years old, it is hard to believe that life, when you're over age 40, much less 60, could hold much joy. But I am here, at age 69, to tell you that life is amazing. I live with my husband, Michael, in Kansas City, Missouri, where I am retired, although that is hardly the word for it. After graduating from Kansas State University in 1962 with a degree in journalism, I spent two months in Europe as a People to People Student Ambassador and PTP staff correspondent. Less than a year after returning from that eye-opening summer, I moved to San Francisco where I lived for 13 years. While there I worked in a variety of capacities, including a stint with the Republican State Central Committee and a political campaign management firm which allowed me the opportunity to work on the 1964 Republican National Convention and several statewide campaigns. I returned to the Kansas City area in 1977 and worked as a writer, editor, and then Vice President of Creative Services, for Children International, a non-profit that helps more than 300,000 children in 10 countries. As part of my job, I traveled throughout the world to 9 countries where I interviewed families and children in need and then told their stories in magazine articles and direct mail, and produced television spots to raise money to help them. I retired in 2000. For the past 19 years, I have been married to Michael Otto, who owns Artworks of Kansas City, a professional fine arts service handling art in a variety of capacities for art galleries, museums and individuals throughout the United States and internationally. As a volunteer, I edit the newsletter for Reach Out and Read-KC, which makes literacy promotion a standard part of pediatric care so children grow up with books and enter school ready to read, and am a member of the board of Communities Creating Opportunity, an organization bringing people of all faiths together to build relationships, develop strong leaders, and improve the quality of life in our community. I also happily returned to politics for a time in 2007 as a volunteer for the Obama for President Campaign. Most important, I am thoroughly enjoying all the benefits of having worked for 40 some years -- writing, reading, yoga, walking, friends, learning all those things I never had time for and simply loving life. It gets better and better all the time. Send Ann a MessageSend Ann a Message
